Creative Nature: Maca & Hemp Seed Recipe Challenge

Creative Nature are all about helping to make healthy eating more enjoyable, with premium, multi-award winning super foods and snacks on their website. A fun, personable and energetic brand, I’ve been a fan of their products for a while, in particular their Superfood Snack bars, which I reviewed a while ago and absolutely loved (not just saying that, promise!).

It was a pleasure to be asked by the owner and CEO of Creative Nature, the gorgeous Julianne Ponan, if I fancied using some of their products to create some super healthy recipes; I pretty much jumped at the chance! My challenge was to incorporate the brand’s organic raw maca powder and organic shelled hemp seeds into clean eating baking so, as part of my #IndulgingInnocently blog project.

Creative Nature superfoods

Organic Maca Powder

‘This might root vegetable, the powerhouse of the edible root world, battles extreme conditions high up in the Andean Mountains…bringing you a mineral rich powder suitable for men and women alike. Creative Nature’s Maca Powder is reported to raise libido and sex drive, supporting its nickname, “Spanish Viagra.”’

Wow, what an introduction, I don’t anything else you read about it can top that! Seriously though, the raw super root is also high in calcium and is gluten, dairy and soy free. It’s got a distinct but delicate taste, a perfect addition to smoothie, blended dessert or mixed into porridge for breakfast…the opportunities are endless! I enjoyed using it in baking too – check out some recipes below.

Organic Shelled Hemp Seeds

‘Harvested from one of the most amazing and versatile plants on Earth, these hemp seeds have had their shells carefully removed to provide you with super nutritious, delicious seeds, rich in protein, vitamin E, antioxidants and essential fatty acids.’

These little seeds of goodness boast rather impressive health benefits and what’s more, they are gluten and dairy-free, easily digestible and offer a nutritious alternative to any other edible seed. Adding a burst of flavour to salads, soups, cereals and desserts, these are so versatile and from now on, will be one of my store cupboard essentials – they go can go in anything, working especially well with dried fruits and/or cocoa.
