Zingy raspberry coulis topped with zesty lemon posset
Ingredients: Cashew blend (water, cashews), raspberry puree, coconut milk, coconut nectar, lemon juice, coconut oil, tapioca starch, coconut sugar, lemon zest, lemon oil
A thick, perfectly sweetened layer of berry puree is the perfect accompaniment for the silky smooth creamy topping. I would have perhaps liked a stronger hint of lemon but otherwise, I was pleased with the generous amounts of both elements which certainly made for a light but satisfying dessert. The only other thing I’d suggest changing would be the name as I don’t think it sells itself as well as it could!
Vanilla posset with mango & passionfruit coulis topped with pistachios
Ingredients: Cashew blend (water, cashews), mango puree, water, coconut milk, passionfruit puree, coconut nectar, coconut oil, lemon juice, pistachios, tapioca starch, coconut sugar, vanilla powder
Bursting with tropical flavours, similar to the Zingy Thingy this one offers a decent layer of pureed fruit smothered with a super creamy and vanilla-infused topping. I love the fact that it comes with a separate section in the lid with crunchy pistachio pieces which balances this refreshing little pot perfectly.
Dark chocolate layer with decadent chocolate ganache and caramelised hazelnuts
Ingredients: Cashew blend (water, cashews), coconut milk, dates, cacao powder, coconut oil, cacao butter, hazelnuts, coconut sugar, sea salt
Certainly the most rich and indulgent out of the three, this is for the serious chocoholics out there. Heavenly layers of thick chocolate creaminess…And if that wasn’t enough, the extra crunchy hazelnuts are the metaphorical cherry on the cake. A few spoonfuls were enough for me but that meant the pot lasted a day longer so I’m not complaining!
Overall, I’m super impressed with these delectable goodies. The sort of thing you’d pay a small fortune for when eating out at a plant-based restaurant, Freaks Of Nature have absolutely nailed the texture, taste, balance and quality of ingredients used to produce these stunning desserts. I’m looking forward to seeing if they extend the range to include other flavours but for now these are a winning trio.
