If you’ve not heard of HelloFresh (where have you been?) they are the leading global provider of fresh food at home, aiming to provide each household with the opportunity to enjoy wholesome home-cooked meals with no planning, no shopping and no hassle required.
Whether you are a cooking novice, have no time or just want to inject some inspiration and creativity into your meals, it sounds like HelloFresh has nailed it on the head. As part of their ethos, this is where the launch of their Flavour Generator has come from; a fast and fun tool that throws out a variety of recipes based on what cuisines and tastes you like best.
From my choice of Mexican food and spicy flavours, I decided to go with the Mexican Superfood Cottage Pie recipe that sounded exactly up mine and James’ street. The recipe itself was pretty straightforward to follow and was a tasty twist on a classic Cottage Pie; the right amount of flavour, packed with chunky, colourful vegetables and made with lean mince to keep the fat content down. I’d make a bigger batch of this and serve for friends or family if they were over for dinner as it would be a really nice dish to serve up and let people tuck in (with a side of tortilla crisps, salsa and guacamole me thinks!).
A quick tool to help make meal planning simple and dinners exciting, delicious and varied, I’ll be using the tool again and see what other recipes it throws my way when I select different options depending on what I’m fancying on that day. Good work, HelloFresh!
